Outside of school and softball, I did competitive robotics for 5 years (6th to 10th grade). In 6th grade, my two closest friends and I started our team, competing in the Vex IQ competition. Then in 9th grade, we transitioned into VRC (Vex Robotics Competition).
Team: Universal Robotics 47774C
My Role: Robot Builder / Designer
Over the years, we worked extremely hard to build our team into one of the best class of 2024 teams in the country. We went to the state championships all 5 years, and the VEX World Championships in 2019, 2020, and 2021.
"Effort. Passion. Dedication" is my team's slogan, a phrase we live by. Through working hard, we've earned numerous awards and trophies over the years, including:
It was one wild ride with my robotics team. And although I've loved every minute, it's time for me to focus on school (junior year at STEM coming up!) and softball. Although the trophies and awards were nice, what I will truly take away from robotics is the engineering and computer science experience that I gained, as well as the hardwork and dedication I put into something other than softball :)
